WebsiteWith its limited population and few predators, large tracts of Kangaroo Island have remained largely unspoilt. And in the island's west, Flinders Chase National Park occupies the largest unspoilt tract of all. In this marsupial Eden, possums prowl and koalas growl while wallabies and kangaroos abound--literally! The park also means home to platypus and flocks of rare, glossy-black cockatoos. Meanwhile a colony of fur seals lounges on the rocks of the southern cape. Take a tent or hire a cabin because you will not find a five-star hotel in this wilderness. Nor, in fairness, would you want to.
