Formerly a wayside stopover for travelers to the Barossa Valley, the Wheatsheaf also hosted bullock teams taking cargo to Port Adelaide. Nowadays the cargo is usually fine Barossa wines traveling home with visiting tourists! And this restored stopover--packed with relics of pioneering days--still offers a welcome break. Country cuisine with an Asian touch goes well with those wines, while home-made desserts and coffee are available at any time.
