Nestled in a little dark street, this alternative club and concert venue can be difficult to find. Get to Hindley Street and ask passers-by for directions. The place is a converted warehouse and one of the grungiest nightspots in town. Dim lights, purple walls and red curtains all add to the look and feel. Pumping techno and house is played on Thursday nights. Fridays often feature live indie bands. An offbeat crowd, drawn by retro and gothic, fills the place on Saturdays. Well-stocked in Australian beers and base spirits, the two Proscenium bars also offer several imported ales and cocktails.
