The International Jazz Festival is synonymous with success. Jazz buffs from all over the world set aside a week in July (generally the second in the month) so they can enjoy first-class artists performing under the skies in the open-air Jourdan Park Theatre. Liz McComb and Ray Baretto's hot rhythms, to name just two, have livened up the summer nights, and the Mingus Big Band, Charles Lloyd, the late great Tito Puente's Big Band and Kenny Garrett.
