Every second Saturday in May, the whole of the Netherlands celebrates its passion for cycling. Thousands of bicycling enthusiasts follow one of the 360 routes mapped out for the occasion. Those who complete the course are presented with a certificate of success. Because the event coincides with National Windmill Day, the cycling routes lead up to mills flying the blue banner. These windmills are open to the public for free viewing. What a great way to explore the Netherlands!
