WebsiteThe pianola is a unique instrument which was first introduced at the beginning of the 20th Century. It is an automatic piano, which plays using a system based on perforated rolls of paper. This instrument became a big success shortly after its introduction. The success didn't last very long, however. Due to the world economic crisis of the 1930s and the dawning of an era in which music fanatics favored radio, it fell into disuse. This museum owns about 15,000 piano rolls in all sorts of musical genres and by diverse manufacturers. A total of 15 instruments are on display and the museum also plays host to special performances.
