Established in 1927, Café 't Mandje went on to be one of the first gay pubs in Amsterdam to carve a niche for itself. Mandje is a legend today because of its undisputed owner Bet van Beers who lend a very authentic feel and a personal touch to the place. The place was reopened in 2008 after a dry spell of 25 years. Restored to its previous glory, the place is still a reminiscence of the decades old art-deco with framed pictures, a jukebox and billiards table.
