Website | EmailFishermen from Antigua gather annually at Jolly Harbour in St John's to find out who is the Best in the West. This one-day competition has one goal: find out who can catch the biggest fish of the day. Lines are dropped at 5am, and the fishermen have just 10 hours to show off their fishing skills. An informal award ceremony celebrates the winner and then, needless to say, the party erupts into a feast of food, drink and Caribbean music. As a special treat, you can even buy fish that have been caught for the competition. - Nadia Ali
