The walls of the Dockyard Museum tell the story of English Harbour from the very beginning. It is widely believed that the harbour was used first as a hurricane shelter in 1671. Then in 1725, the first buildings were erected for maintaining British ships. The museum — its models, tools, artifacts and instruments — takes visitors on a visual trip through the ages. When stopping by, be sure to check out the reference library, which includes a lending section and a paperback swap shop. There is no charge for admission.
