Where to Stay
When deciding where to stay, keep in mind that you will find the largest number of hotels near Nadai is located on the outskirts, in Hoboken, while Scheldezicht is a nice family-run hotel that's just a short walk from the Scheldt River. The Antwerp Hilton is situated on the Groenplaats near the Cathedral. The picturesque Hotel Rubens is just behind the Grote Markt, and Best Western Hotel Villa Mozart is near the Cathedral. In this area, you'll also find some really unique small hotels like theDe Witte Lelie, a so-called petit grand hotel.Quartier Latin
The fashion district is definitely an inspiring place to stay during your visit. The city's fashion mavens can be found here, so be sure to check out the many small shops who sell wares supplied by chic designers. Here, you also won't be far from the large, beautiful Antwerp harbor, which is the perfect spot for a scenic day trip. Claessens is close to the Royal Museum of Fine Arts and many interesting boutiques and cafes can be found nearby.
The South
The South is an area undergoing significant change. It's been the focus of the city's vast redevelopment project, and as such, has become home to many fine hotels, restaurants and bars. Bed & Breakfast is just what the name suggests, and is run by a family. The Rubenshof is a lovely, romantic and very private hotel that used to be the home of a Cardinal. Cornelis, Lenaerts-Moelans and Aerts are all inexpensive options with cozy décors and friendly staff. Even cheaper is the popular Jeugdherberg Op Sinjoorke a hostel well known for its neat interior and cleanliness.
The North
There is much to see in this part of the city. The biggest draw is the city's docks, which attract many visitors who want to see and learn more about Antwerp's long history as one of the most important seaports in the region. The Antwerp Docks Hotel is just across the street from the famous Metropolis which, until very recently, was the largest cinema in the world. Stopping here is a must for any film buff. The Novotel is well known for its friendly, welcoming staff, comfortable rooms and unique hotel package, that includes lodging, dinner and a cabaret show.
City Park
You'll find a wide choice of first class hotels around Stadspark or the City Park: Tulip Inn Astoria, Golden Tulip Carlton and Plaza Hotel are four and five star hotels conveniently located near the Diamond District. There's no need to plan a big shopping trip; you need only step out your door. If you're looking to spend an evening or two at the Stadsschouwburg theater, be sure to check into the Ibis Hotel, located just across the street. Its decor is modern and elegant, and its location offers stunning views of the city.
Central Station
This is a popular place for those looking to be in the cultural heart of the city. Central Station is a beautifully, recently renovated train terminal and there are many cafes, shops and restaurants located around it. Chinatown and the Red Light District are also nearby, both offering much to do on their own. Check out Alfa De Keyser Hotel or Hotel Terminus, two moderately priced, artfully decorated options. Also consider Agora, Billiard Palace and Atlanta, inexpensive places suitable for the no-frills traveler. Florida Hotel is slightly more expensive, but the attentive staff, extra amenities and cheery décor makes it well worth the money.
