Built at the intersection of Santa Catalina and San Agustin Streets, together with neighboring Arrospide house, it hosts the Cultural Center Chavez de la Rosa, which is sponsored by the University of San Agustin. It was built in 1793 and its huge lava-rock walls are believed to be the thickest in all the city. The facade carvings represent Jesuit monograms, and similar decorations are found above each one of the large inner portals as well.
