The busiest beach in Athens is the one at Alimos. Its fine sand and its proximity to the city centre make it an ideal place to escape to on a hot summer's day. The facilities at the beach club include changing cabins, showers, umbrellas and beach chairs for those wanting to bask in the sun. More athletic types can engage in water sports, basketball or beach volleyball. There is also a waterslide and playground for the little ones.
