The velodrome is part of the Athens Olympic Sports Complex, and is a striking structure. Designed by Spainish architect Santiago Calatrava, the main roof has been nicknamed 'mini Calatrava' because of the unusual use of steel and glass in the the roof. The velodrome is the main venue for track cycling events.
