The Schinias Rowing and Canoeing Centre is located in a region of Athens called Marathonas. Schinias is built around a lake which is 2,250 metres long, and is connected to a smaller lake which is used for training sessions by athletes. The centre featured some of the world's best rowists at the Olympic games in 2004.
