Mt. Parnitha National Park is located 32 kilometres north of the city centre. This fir-covered mountain—with its highest peak reaching 1,413 metres—features wild gorges, hiking trails and the Pan Cave, containing many archaeological finds. Among the park’s living creatures are deer, foxes, eagles and gambling addicts heading to the casino and Hotel Mont Parnes! The games offered at the casino include roulette, black jack, banco punto, poker and slot machines. The casino itself offers a panoramic view of Athens. It can be reached either by taxi or cablecar which departs from the foot of the mountain.
