EmailSince 2003, the Independent Black Film Festival has brought together historical as well as contemporary films that highlight the variety and grandeur of African-American culture. The festival promises an array of concerts, films, and parties throughout the downtown Atlanta area for both artists and audiences alike. Because the festival views films normally not shown in common theaters, it offers a fresh perspective on cinema. There are opportunities for networking and listening to discussion panels as well, so the festival is not only interesting for avid movie-goers but for the academically-minded as well.
