In this spirit, Madison displays the Southeast's finest collection of 19th and early 20th century European, British and American oils, watercolors and sculpture. The collection's 450 pieces show tremendous range in both subject matter and style, with every major school represented. Genre paintings, landscapes, still lifes, marine scenes, cityscapes and animal paintings are all on display in the gallery.
