Website | EmailMothball was first held in the early '80s. It takes place annually in September, and its date coincides with that of the Grant Park Tour of Homes. The biggest party of the neighborhood features dance, music, food, drinks, auction, and competitions like the Table Decorating Contest and the Ms. MothBall Pageant. The tent at the zoo is transformed into a night club, where the crowd dances to the tunes of popular DJs. Moreover, everything is in keeping with a particular theme, which changes from year to year—past celebrations have been based on Mardi Gras, Disco '70s, and a Hawaiian luau.
