Constructed by architect G. Lloyd Preacher between 1928 and 1930, this hulking building serves as Atlanta's seat of civic operations. Standing 11 stories tall with dramatic Gothic-arched entryways, the building is surfaced with cream colored terra cotta tiles, contrasted by green terra cotta in vertical tiers above the windows. The balustrade and main entrance are constructed of locally-mined white Georgia marble, and provide a stunning facade on the Mitchell Street side.
