Situated several miles south of downtown, the Lakewood Amphitheather (formerly the Coca-Cola Lakewood Amphitheater and HiFi Buys Amphitheater) is used for large festivals and musical shows in Atlanta. In the past performances by Elton John, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and other contemporary and classical artists have graced the venue. The venue encompasses 5,000 roofed seats, 2,000 more without, and space for 12,000 on the sloping lawn. Events are rain or shine, and the venue can be reached by car or MARTA rail line.
