The thrill of the game is what brings people to Atlantic City, and a whole world of entertainment exists in its casinos. The famous Harrah's - Atlantic City, comes with a luxury hotel and Broadway musicals. Bally's Casino, features with slots, Blackjack, Video Poker, Craps and Baccarat, and Texas Hold'em Poker Tournaments. The Casino includes the wild west themed Mountain Bar, which features bar-top slot machines and gives a taste of was high stakes meant before the law came to town. The Trump Marina Hotel Casino is another of Atlantic City's casino giants, it won the prestigious "Five Star Diamond Award" from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences. These are just a few of the many places you can go to get your heart pounding and your fingers tingling.
Nightclubs
Atlantic City is a city of the night and its clubs are some of the best you’ll find. The Deja Vu and Providence Atlantic City are some of the most popular, both upscale joints, the first with three levels, six bars and a kitchen that stays open late to fuel your partying. A more casual atmosphere can be found at Planet Rose which proclaims itself "The Greatest Karaoke Bar on Earth" and is open seven nights a week. The Wave has a friendly atmosphere and 80s nights in the summer.
Museums and Galleries
Atlantic City is not all quick thrills: history and art can also be enjoyed between rolls of the dice. Atlantic City Art Center at Garden Pier offers a wide variety of mediums, showcases local and international artists, and plays host to a number of events. If you’ve been having a bad day at the slots, don't worry, admission is free! So is the Atlantic City Historical Museum, which displays the city’s rich history, including a section devoted to Miss America's beauty pageant, and even throws in a Heinz pickle for guests. The Wheaton Arts & Cultural Center is devoted to the city’s rich glass making history, while Noyes Museum of Art offers a diverse array of art.
Historical Attractions
A great part of the Jersey Shore's heritage is its maritime tradition, which is featured at the nearby Tuckerton Seaport. This historic village, with its 17 recreated buildings makes a great break from the big city. Closer still is another maritime landmark, the Absecon Lighthouse. Just a quick walk from the Atlantic City Boardwalk, it is one of the largest lighthouses in the U.S. and offers a great view of the shore.
Music and Comedy
Many music and comedy acts can be found in the Casinos themselves, for instance the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa contains the Borgata Music Box, a venue that features live music and comedy. Mark G. Etess Arena, located in the Trump Taj Majal Casino, is a multi-purpose entertainment facility offering sports and entertainers. The House of Blues Atlantic City and Comedy Stop Cafe & Cabaret play host to big name performers outside the Casino setting.
Theatre and Cinema
Broadway musicals such as The Producers are featured at Harrah's and Bally's Casinos. Outside the Casino scene is the non-profit Community Theatre, "A Place for All Arts." Owned and operated by The South Street Theatre Co. the venue offers a wide variety of art entertainment, with performers ranging from the New Jersey Ballet to Bill Cosby.
