Filling the crater of the inactive volcano Gunung Catur, Lake Bratan sits at over 1,200 meters above sea level. Providing a cool retreat from the hot and humid regions of Bali, its shores provide the traveler with hotels and restaurants and its cool waters offer para sailing, water-skiing, banana-boat rides and other watersports. Some Japanese caves across the lake were dug during World War II.
