Tjampuhan was once an artists’ colony headed by the famous German artist Walter Spies, whose house still forms part of the hotel. All 55 cottages feature a verandah or balcony that overlooks the river. The property stands only a short stroll from the Ubud Monkey Forest, museums, art galleries, the former King’s palace and traditional markets.
