This annual race is the most popular Banff sporting event not involving snow. Each September, over 2,000 competitors don their running shoes and hit the road on three separate races: a 3km jaunt, a 10km run and a 22km mini-marathon. Each course takes in some spectacular scenery and, as can be expected in a mountain race, some challenging hills. Be sure to visit Melissa's Bar on Saturday night to join the athletes as they turn in their race numbers for free beer.
