Although most of these canals have been filled in Bangkok, a visit to this popular attraction will reveal yesteryear's traditions. From early morning, hundreds of boats laden with fruit, vegetables and other goods, crowd the canals of Damnoen Saduak. It has all of the hustle of a regular market place. The vendors, wearing traditional straw hats, paddle up and down, stopping whenever they find a potential customer. Arrange a tour or take a bus from the Southern Bus Terminal.
