Here is where you will see most of the island's commercial boating activity, from charter fishing boats to yachts and dive boats. The Careenage is a perfect place for a walk along the water's edge where you can stop for shopping, book a tour or boat and perhaps catch a meal at the Waterfront Cafe. Once this area served as the main port for all arrivals by sea. Today, it has been replaced by the Barbados Deep Water Harbour, where cruise ships berth. The westernmost end of the Careenage houses the Pierhead and Willoughby's Fort.
