Website | EmailThe Vitra Design Museum is no longer located in Switzerland, but the short journey over the border is well worth it! The furniture makers Vitra allowed the Californian architect Frank O. Gehry to design the building like a plastic object and so you'll find a fascinating building composed of complex geometric shapes. New trends in design, along with its history, are on disply here. The rapidly changing exhibits mean this museum is always worth visiting, especially as the museum has a leading role in the area of design internationally. The famous chair collection from Thonet to Eames can be found in the Feuerwehrhaus (by the Iranian architect Zaha Hadid).
