And it was this very ballroom which was recently integrated into the Sony Center on Potsdamer Platz amid huge publicity. The new Grand Hotel Esplanade was erected on the banks of Landwehrkanal in the 1980s. A modern, first-class hotel with a top gourmet restaurant, the Esplanade also boasts one of the best cocktail bars in the whole country, Harry's New York Bar. The inside is modern rather than traditional.
