The auditorium has none of the splendour of the likes of La Scala Milan, yet all seats, even the cheap ones, have good views of the stage and the acoustics are excellent. The repertoire is extensive and features classic German and Italian works as well as contemporary pieces. Several productions have been running for decades with great success.
