This event used to be known as the Handsworth Carnival because all the events would be held at Handsworth Park. Today, the biennial Birmingham International still begins in Handsworth, although the floats and procession have moved to Perry Barr. The festival features colourful floats, music, steel drums, food and, above all, fun. Admission is free.
