J Jay’s specialises in North Indian cuisine and is much admired by its regulars who praise the authenticity. It's a slightly pricier version of the normal Indian restaurant found in Birmingham, perhaps due to its location just a few minutes out of the centre. The tandoori fish makes an excellent, hearty starter, and so does pistachio chicken. Be prepared to pay up for two courses, however, since some delicious main dishes are a little more expensive.
