The Hagley Road is not one of the city’s more attractive thoroughfares, but it does hold a good deal of fine places to eat. The Edgbaston Tandoori has been open since 1986 and is popular not only with locals. It seats 46, classing it as intimate, and the relaxed atmosphere suits dinners for two. A dish that always goes down well is the chicken tikka masala (£6.25), but there are plenty more original choices.
