Hotel restaurants can be rather foreboding places, especially if it's clear you're a non-resident. However, the Hyatt Regency Hotel, one of Birmingham's plushest hotels, is happy to welcome all-comers to this stylish brasserie. Chef Roger Narbett took over in 1999 and quickly drew praise from the local press. What's more, the food won't cost an arm or a leg. Expect to pay around £18 for three courses, with the menu changing frequently.
