One of a dying breed, this is a traditional English restaurant. Because of this it's a popular destination and booking is advisable, but you can be fairly sure of landing a table for breakfast (£4.50) when the place opens at around 7:15a. Main courses are all your old favourites, including steak and kidney pie (£5.25) and spotted dick. Prices are very reasonable and the surroundings are comfortably old-fashioned, so why not do something different and order something typically English?
