On the road connecting Harborne with its poor relation, Bearwood, this is a large pub cum restaurant that is family-friendly, but with areas mercifully free of screaming kids. It's packed with comfy armchairs and sofas and although it's huge, manages to maintain a homely feel. There are few gimmicks, and the restaurant menu is hardly adventurous, but it still packs in the punters on Friday and Saturday nights. The best night is Thursday when a professional DJ hosts an excellent quiz - there are cash and alcoholic prizes and you get a free curry.
