A taxi ride from the airport to the center of Bologna is quick at around 10 minutes. Taxis are located outside of the main arrivals area of both terminals.

Regular buses are available traveling to and from the airport and the centre of Bologna. The Aerobus is a reasonably priced option (EUR 5) that takes about 20 minutes.

By Bus:

Eurolines (+39 055 35 71 10/ http://www.eurolines.it) provides international bus travel to various cities in Europe. The bus depot is located opposite Piazza XX Settembre, around the corner from the train station.

By Car:

The A1, also known as the Autostrada del Sole, Italy's famed superhighway runs through Bologna. From the south (Rome and Florence) take the Bologna-Casalecchio exit to get on the Tangenziale.

By Rail:

Bologna is a major railway hub for northern Italy with frequent services to and from Rome, Florence, Milan, Venice and any other major travel hub in the northern and central regions of the country. High-speed EuroStar trains allow passengers to get to Rome in under three hours or to Milan or Venice in under two hours.


Getting around:

The ATC bus system (+39 051 290 290/ http://www.atc.bo.it) offers frequent service throughout Bologna. Tickets start at EUR 1 for an hour's ride or save and get a day pass for only EUR 3. Information booths are located at the train station and on Via Marconi at Via Ugo Bassi and Via Lame.
