Known as les Capus by the locals, this is the market that caterers and restaurateurs swear by. Located between Place de la Victoire and Saint-Jean station, this bulk-buying trading place thrives amid modern architectural design and a pleasurable atmosphere. Try to go on Saturday mornings when the stalls are nicely full and the fish sections particularly well-stocked. Products are really fresh, and Bordeaux being near the sea, you'd be a fool not to snap up the seafood and fresh fish that arrives from the Arcachon Basin at night or first thing in the morning. This is also the best time to really experience the special atmosphere of les Capus.
