With the warm Australian sunshine attracting "alternative" acts of the highest calibre from around the world, the national Big Day Out is the stuff of legends. Previous festivals have included artists such as Korn, Bjork, Nine Inch Nails, The Prodigy, Foo Fighters, Iggy Pop, Silverchair, Hole and local heroes like Powderfinger and Regurgitator. With four stages of local and international acts, the Boiler Room for dance-heads and the Lily Pad for zany entertainment, it is hard to come away disappointed. The difficult part is trying to fit everything in. Admission: Approximately AUD80.
