Bellas Gallery features contemporary Australian art and was one of the first of the new wave of galleries to open in the Fortitude Valley area, priding itself on supporting local Queensland artists.The modest, but appealing gallery has two main exhibition spaces, one being particularly suitable for the artwork due to its abundance of natural light. The director of the gallery, Peter Bellas, has always viewed the openings of exhibitions as a celebration for artists and friends, rather than just an opportunity to sell works. Both the Gallery and artists' reputations have flourished and grown in this friendly, collaborative environment.
