Website | EmailInclude a look at this 1889 Classic Revival building in your Brisbane River boardwalk stroll and find nestled among the palms a gracious, white three-storey building. First used for the Australian United Steam Navigation Company, it adjoined the wharves on the river. It has a magnificent cupola on the north-east end of the building. It is now a private club, but you can wander inside and marvel at the original timber staircase and fittings, admire the bar on your left and chat to the doorman. Guided tours: Free on request. Worth doing, especially to see the atmospheric cellars downstairs, where club members and guests can eat lunch.
