Website | EmailOnce a year, Escobar, 50km from the capital, displays the best of its plant specimens creating a great show of colors, scents and movement. The Fiesta Nacional de la Flor (National Flower Festival), held annually in September and October, transforms the city into a version of the Garden of Eden. The parade of floral floats is already a tradition of the Festival, as is the Queen of the Flower and Bud Pageant held on the last day of the event. In 1999, the main attraction was a new variety of cactus from Mexico, in yellow, orange and purple; in 2001, the Fiesta introduced the first International Garden and Parks Exhibition.
