WebsiteRoots began in 1973 selling the shoe that everyone wore for years in high school. The original Roots were a mix between a desert boot and running shoe, and everyone from thirteen years old and onward had a pair. Since that universal start in the early 1970's, Roots has grown and expanded, and now carries sweatshirts, sweatpants, boots and a whole line of comfortable and reasonably priced clothing. There are 5 locations in Calgary, and each location plans to begin selling jeans, cotton shirts and more accessible apparel.
