Website | EmailFounded during the First World War, the National Stud moved to Newmarket in 1963. It is now one of Britain’s most prestigious stud farms. Visitors wanting a look behind the scenes can join one of its guided tours. The 75-minute tour includes an introduction to the resident stallions, the nursery yards, and the mares and foals in their paddocks. Part of the tour includes a coach journey, and visitors unable to join the coach are invited to follow the tour in their own vehicle. Wheelchair users should note that the reception area is fully accessible. Opening hours are for tour times and advance booking is advised.
