Website | EmailOriginally known as Lambing Flats, Young was the location of one of the most violent clashes between Europeans and Chinese at the district gold fields in 1861. After the riots, Lambing Flats was renamed Young and established itself as an agricultural center. Peaceful today, Young is Australia's premier cherry growing region. It remains steeped in history and features many folk museums, galleries, vineyards and historic buildings.
