WebsiteBegun originally by former Prime Minister Sir Robert Menzies, a long time aficionado of cricket, this annual cricket match was resurrected in 1983 by the equally cricket-loving Bob Hawke. The Australian team comprises young up-and-coming cricketers and the match is an excellent introduction to the international cricket scene as they play against a touring test team. Many great Australian cricketers, such as David Boon, made their international cricketing debut in a Prime Minister's XI.
