Website | EmailIn 1820, three explorers came across the junction of two small streams flowing into a snug valley to the east of the Limestone Plains. A natural halting place for travellers, this site evolved into Queanbeyan. With a population of 28,000, Queanbeyan's development has been closely tied to that of Canberra. It was proclaimed a city in 1972 and now offers great facilities, shopping and service industries. The many attractions include Molonglo Gorge, Googong Dam and Foreshores, many beautiful city parks and historic buildings such as Ye Olde Kent House.
