Franschoek (or 'French corner') is named after the Huguenot settlers who pioneered this valley more than 300 years ago. The sleepy town celebrates its French heritage on this French holiday with a food and wine festival, an art and craft market in the town hall, cooking demonstrations, a trout derby and a game of Boules.
