WebsiteThe land on which De Zoete Inval lies was originally granted to one Hercule des Pres by Governor Simon van der Stel in 1688. Robert Frater arrived here in 1878 to found the original cellar, which now houses the tasting room, and to plant the vineyards. Since then, the estate has been a paragon of the Boland's traditional family estate and the Frater family has been making wine here for more than 115 years. Today, the family continue to produce fine wines of singular character, an art developed over three centuries. The tasting centre has become a popular meeting place for the family, friends and visitors. It is managed exclusively by the Frater clan, who are always happy to broaden your knowledge and refine your feeling for wine.
