Website | EmailNestling high in the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountains, looking north towards Paarl, lies Glen Carlou Vineyards which was established by the celebrated winemaker, Walter Finlayson, in 1985. The farm has already developed a firm reputation among connoisseurs, both in South Africa and abroad, for its exquisite wines. The 108 hectare farm once formed part of the original Simonsvlei land grant Skilpadjie, named after the now endangered geometric tortoise. The farm was named Glen Carlou by a previous owner in honor of his three daughters, Lena, Carol and Louise. Since January 1996, Glen Carlou has been associated with one of the most prestigious cellars in California, the Hess Collection Winery.
