Website | EmailOn 13 May 1797, the widow Paulina de Villiers was granted the land that nestles against the mountain along the Franschhoek River. The farm, named Paulina's Dal, later became known as Rickety Bridge as a result of the very old and dilapidated bridge (now repaired) that had to be crossed to reach it. During December 1996, Rickety Bridge Vineyards was taken over by its present owners. The white grapes are picked at night-time to ensure delivery of cool firm bunches to the cellar. The old cellar, which was revived during 1995, is gaining acclaim each year. It was restored to its former glory and converted into a restaurant - Paulina's - during 1998 as part of the planned Paulina's Drift Retreat and Conference Center.
